Driver critically injures woman in Minneapolis crash, then flees scene

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – A woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a driver who subsequently fled the scene, Minneapolis police say.

According to KSTP, the crash happened just before 3:10 a.m. on Sunday in the 1600 block of Marshall Street Northeast, as a woman in her 20s was attempting to cross the street while carrying a bag of groceries. Authorities believe the vehicle was speeding when it hit her.

Police are on the lookout for a dark-colored sedan. They believe the suspect may be a man.

The woman is recovering in an area hospital.
