Driver in Eden Prairie Wrong-Way Crash Charged with Criminal Vehicular Homicide

LNR General Accident 2

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN – The woman accused of causing a fatal wrong-way collision on Highway 212 last Saturday has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide, FOX 9 reports.

The collision occurred on westbound Highway 212 near Prairie Center Drive just before 8 pm on April 11. Amanda Lyn Merriman of Victoria was allegedly driving the wrong way when her pickup truck collided with a small sedan.

The sedan’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Merriman, who had her license revoked in 2024 due to a DWI conviction, smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking two vodka cranberry drinks prior to getting behind the wheel. A search of Merriman’s vehicle uncovered a bag of marijuana and a glass pipe.
