HENNEPIN COUNTY, MN – The 19-year-old man accused of using his phone moments before the crash that killed an 11-year-old girl in February 2025 has been sentenced, KSTP reports.
The collision occurred near County Roads 6 and 83 in Independence on February 26, 2025. The driver, Connor Michael Iversen, allegedly sped through a four-way stop intersection, striking two vehicles and fatally injuring a middle school girl. Reports indicated that Iversen was using his phone at the time of the crash.
Iversen was charged with one count of criminal vehicular homicide. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 44 months in prison.
