LNR Bicycle Accident 2

FRIDLEY, MN – A teenager from Fridley received emergency transportation after a driver hit him while he was riding his bike to Spring Lake Park High School, then fled the scene.

KSTP reports that the hit-and-run crash happened near 81st Avenue NE and Beech Street NE in Fridley at about 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12. The force of the crash threw the 17-year-old from his bike. He later said he was “hit from behind and flew.”

He later went to Mercy Hospital‑Unity Campus to be checked out for injuries. KSTP says the boy still has scratches and abrasions across his body.

Police are continuing to look for the driver who hit the boy.
