STEARNS CO., MN – Several children were injured in a school bus accident in Munson Township yesterday afternoon, KNSI reports.
Authorities say that the crash happened shortly after 3:20 p.m. yesterday and involved a bus operated by Richmond Bus Service. The bus was heading south on Jay Avenue past Hwy 23 when its driver—identified as Thomas Gordon Hedberg of Sartell—lost control of the vehicle. The bus then ran down a ditch, hit a tree, and ended up perched on a driveway.
Several of the roughly 30 children onboard at the time suffered minor injuries. Damage to the bus is extensive.
Authorities continue to investigate. They do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
