FRIDLEY, MN – The man convicted of two counts of vehicular homicide in a drunk driving accident that took the lives of two people in 2015 has been charged with driving while impaired again, Fox 9 reports.
Tom Souvannaphong was sentenced to seven years in prison in April 2016 in connection with the August 2015 crash, which occurred at the intersection of North Benton Drive and 2nd Street North. Souvannaphong, who did not have a valid driver’s license, reportedly sped through a red light at twice the posted speed limit, striking another vehicle and killing a married couple. A breathalyzer test registered a .0101%.
Souvannaphong was arrested on University Avenue Northeast in Fridley and charged with driving while impaired once more on Monday. A preliminary breathalyzer registered a 0.157%, which is almost twice the state’s legal limit of 0.08%.
