Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run on MN-252 in Brooklyn Park, MN

LNR Pedestrian Accident 2

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – A speeding driver fatally struck a female pedestrian early yesterday morning as she was walking on the shoulder of southbound MN-252. The driver then fled the scene.

The Minnesota State Police say that the fatal hit-and-run happened at about 1:22 a.m. in the highway’s southbound lanes between Brookdale Drive and 73rd Avenue. The woman was walking along the shoulder at the time.

Two witnesses who knew the woman were in a vehicle also on the shoulder and attempting to convince her to get in with them.

As they were talking, a dark gray Toyota Rav4 struck the pedestrian at a high rate of speed. The driver sped off without stopping.

Authorities identified the victim as Amiah Armstrong Walker, a 25-year-old Minneapolis resident.

A search for the driver appears to be ongoing.
