Semi Truck Collides with Bridge, Passenger Vehicle, Causes Major Delays in Richfield

RICHFIELD, MN – A collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle shut down I-494 for several hours on Wednesday night, Limitless Media reports.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the collision occurred just west of Highway 77 around 7:21 pm. A westbound semi-truck struck the underside of a bridge, dislodging its load of metal scaffolding, which then struck a passing vehicle.

The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Westbound I-494 at Highway 77 was shut down for around five hours while emergency crews responded to the accident.
