Twin Cities Woman Killed in Highway 61 Collision

ST. PAUL PARK, MN – An elderly South St. Paul woman was killed in a collision on Highway 61 last Saturday, KROC News reports.

The collision occurred in the area of 70th Avenue in the northbound lanes of Highway 61. A Mitsubishi driven by 80-year-old Sandra Lee Brunell was attempting to re-enter the roadway from the shoulder when a BMW driven by 71-year-old Mark Steven Martell collided with it.

Brunell was pronounced dead on the scene. Martell was transported to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
